Our Colonies

Beavers is Scouting for children aged 6 to 8 years old. The Beaver section is called a colony. We have two colonies in our group Lostboys and Riverside (see times for meetings). Within each colony the children are split into teams called lodges.

Beaver Programme

Scouting as a movement is aiming to develop children using a balanced training programme. There is a training programme designed by the Scouting Organisation for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts and Network Scouts. The Beavers programme is targeted at the younger children and involves a number of tasks and objectives for them to achieve. These are built upon when the move up to Cubs. Badges are given to the Beavers as recognition that they have successfully completed the tasks and objectives.
