When people wish to join Beavers, Cubs or Scouts they go through a investiture ceremony. During the investiture they are expected to know the Law and Promise. They will be asked to repeat the Law and Promise, although their Leader can say each line which is then repeated back to them. There is a different Beaver Law and Promise, Cub Law and Promise and Scout Law and Promise.
I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God
Fun and Friends
I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to The Queen,
To help other people and to keep the Cub Scout Law
Cub Scouts always do their best,
think of others before themselves
and do a good turn every day.
On my honour, I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to The Queen,
To help other people and to keep the Cub Scout Law
